I have an “Art Head”! As a young child up to my adulthood, I have always thrown myself into so many mediums of art. There wasn’t ever one style or preference that I had to work in nor did I focus on building or pursuing a specific identity.
I just love to create. I studied art at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Shortly after, I began a career in the visual arts, primarily designing and executing retail store visual merchandising and window displays. So much of everything art went into conceptualizing floor sets, museum exhibits or trade shows or creating impactful displays.
Throughout my professional career, I continued to draw, paint and design both by hand and digitally . Today I am exploding out of my “Art Head” and looking to build and focus on combing all my talents into my own works of art and go VIRAL.
As a result of using computer graphics to conceptualize and create over the years I have cultivated my art to depict how I view things at the moment.
Shapes are everywhere within everything we view.
It was a comfortable transition for me to incorporate art and computers. I was self-trained in graphic design and my ability to draw blended my skills, which evolved to where I am now. It took a long time to find my comfort zone and venture into more contemporary fine art. This represents me in the most purist sense. I place lines, shapes, color and movement to create works of art that are very relevant to now. As I evolve, so will my work.
After I begin a piece, it lures me to keep on layering on top and manipulate it in so many ways, because I am constantly viewing change and altering it to say something else. The movement represents speech such as poetry, which I have written many in my lifetime. Some layers are silent while others alter to speak. I have so much to say through art.
I also ensure that my drawing skills are nourished by taking life drawing classes and painting.
